Live Life Outside Your Laptop And Internet

With advances technology happening leaps & bounds where does that put us today”s busy world? We rely on computers for so much that we find ourselves going into withdrawals without our phones or the Internet right? What is that doing our society as whole?

Ten years ago social networking meant getting together with groups people to meet new friends or potential partners. Thanks to MySpace & Facebook & online dating we are now society that does all our socializing via the World Wide Web. While they have been good for us to reconnect with friends & loved ones from past they are consuming our daily lives.

With email & instant messaging now at our fingertips what”s the need to write letter & “snail” mail to someone you want to correspond with? The personal touches are gone & home telephones for some are thing the past. Today”s society is relying on the Internet & their cell phones to keep them connected.

With the introduction to the IPhone we can now access the Internet directly unlike before when we had to go through our phone for the “mobile internet” version. Who could have known when the first portable “brick” cell phone was introduced that we would be where we are today. What does the future have waiting for us; I can”t even imagine.

Today many top computer designers are probably children who were the little geniuses on their parent”s home computers. Their knowledge these amazing machines are leading us into new places we only though existed with our computers. They are the pioneers technology for the next generation.

As parents we are so concerned about the time our kids are spending on their computers & using the Internet. Students are being used more & more for input the design new software & computer games so they may be on to something. You never know what you kid can do because their knowledge computers.

One downfall I see with computers is that we don”t ever need to leave our homes. We can order pizzas shop for birthdays & Christmas online we even send our birthday greeting from Internet. We don”t develop pictures we send them via email check our bank statements & it”s all done with the click the mouse. But what about getting to know the banker the postman or your photo developer?

My fear with our children is where is all the craze computers going to leave our grandchildren. Interacting socially was once something we looked forward to with great enthusiasm but to me that seems to be thing the past. If computers give 24-7 access to all you need from home what is your incentive to get out?

Teaching our kids that enjoying time on the computer is good for some things. Use the World Wide Web to explore other worlds within their grasp. They can have better future if they choose to use the Internet to their advantage & find world outside their bedroom. Getting involved helping to make better world for themselves & their children is great place to start.
